Park Blvd Hampel Tickets
Dear Sir/Madam:
I'm e-mailing you to inform you that AC Transit sent a local sheriff this morning to give out tickets to anyone who was picking up carpoolers at the bus stop/casual carpool location on Park Blvd. and Hampel.
Apparently, the officer said that they had been receiving complaints from AC Transit bus drivers and the local neighbors for cars blocking the street. The officer was giving out parking tickets instead of moving violations. The ticket was priced at $250 but he was telling our driver to fight the ticket. The official violation was parking in a red zone/bus stop (not sure since I didn't read the ticket).
The officer was very cooperative and understood our situation but he said he was giving out tickets to that location and the Park Blvd. and Hollywood location up the street.

It would be a BIG inconvenience for a lot of local carpoolers if there is no designated Park Blvd carpool pickup location.
Our driver who got the ticket suggested the church parking lot on Hampel that is empty on the weekdays might suffice as a pickup stop.
I don't know how we can resolve this matter.
Please let me know what we should do. Thank you for your time.
I recently learned that carpool drivers are being threatened with $250 tickets for pulling up at the designated pick-up spot. Clearly something must be done--is it possible to move the pick-up spot to the church parking lot down the street? Or are there other possible solutions?
I can't believe the sanest institution going is being challenged like this. You probably already know that, due to complaints from AC Transit, and possibly neighborhood folks, drivers are now being threatened with $250 tickets for pulling up at the designated pick-up spot.
